Greener Good supports the community through collection, organization, and redistribution of reusable materials while also providing programs for reimagining, repurposing, and creating environmental awareness.

Greener Good makes reclaimed and reusable materials donated by individuals and businesses available to be used by crafters, artists, kids of all ages, and educators.

Trash should be for items that have no other use and are at the end of  their usefulness.

Tools for Schools Event

We understand that teachers often spend a lot of their own money to create a well-equipped classroom and we aim to make this process a little easier. According to My eLearning World, teachers spent more than $820 this school year to support their students by buying items such as books, software, school supplies, prizes, snacks and classroom decor. We are dedicated to engaging our community to provide secondhand materials to teachers as they strive to make learning fun and engaging for their students.

To put together this end-of-summer event we are looking for volunteers, sponsors and donors. The drop-off of materials and the Tools for Schools event will be located at St. Thomas of Villanova at 1201 E Anderson Dr. Palatine, IL. We look forward to volunteering with folks to make this inaugural event a success as we come together to equip the classrooms.

While our popup shop is in Palatine, Greener Good is meant to support ALL teachers and classrooms in surrounding communities including we have created guidelines regarding who can participate in this event. Please visit the Tools for Schools page for more details and don't hesitate to reach out with questions. Sign up for our newsletter and follow us on social media to keep up-to-date.

We encourage teachers to get involved to make this a great inaugural event that provides what you need most!

Donors & Sponsors

To make this all happen we are sounding the call to community members to donate secondhand items such as school supplies, office supplies, classroom organization items and more. Financial donations will help cover the cost of the event and keep  our doors open for year-round shopping.

REDUCING WASTE

Greener Good was born out of the desire to reduce waste in our community and serve others. What made it all come together was finding organizations collecting used materials to provide to teachers, artists, and more.

CREATIVE REUSE

We collect used or meant-to-be-used-but-never-got-to-them art and craft materials. Even more fun is playing with nontraditional materials that we may normally throw away or recycle.

We will make materials available to the community at a low cost and host creative workshops for all ages.

The Teacher Shop

Let's help teachers spend less out of pocket

We recognize teachers spend too much out of pocket and there are lots of folks who would be happy to donate gently loved items to see that change.

Greener Good connects the community and teachers by providing space for teachers to shop for school, office, art supplies and more. Early childhood, chapter books, novels, and textbooks are also collected and made available.
