Tools for Schools 2026

Educators are so important to our community and we are bringing individuals and companies together to support your efforts in the classroom. One way we do this is by taking in material donations and providing them at low cost and free items in Greener Good's creative reuse resale shop all year round.

Teacher Bags

The Tools for Schools program is for all public and private school teachers, interventionists/instructional specialist, and librarians (no assistant roles). When we say "teacher" it applies to all the above roles. Teachers at non-Title I schools can get a teacher bag for $11 (with tax) to fill up with school, office and classroom supplies plus loose parts, games, puzzles and creative surplus items. Teachers at Title I schools can get a teacher bag at no cost. The funds we raise go towards supporting this effort. If we can get PTAs and schools involved in gifting funds we hope to provide more and more teachers with free supplies.

Tools for Schools program requirements:

  • Be in a role as a teacher, instructional specialist or librarian at a Title I school.

  • Be a brand new educator in grades Pre-K - 12 at a public or private school.

  • Bring a school ID, email from your school principal or letter from the principal indicating your employment for 2026-27.

There have been two off-site Tools for Schools events over the years that we were able to do thanks to donated space as we got way more donations than we could possibly store and set out for teachers. In March of 2026 Greener Good moved to a new space thanks to the support and encouragement from the community. While we won't have a whole gymnasium or an extra 1,000 ft retail space as in past years, we are excited to be in this new location to offer great items for artists, crafters, creators, nonprofits and of course teachers!

Free items the last half of each month

Items that have been in our shop for more than four months are placed on a tag color sale. When tag color items are on sale for 75% off (e.g. all blue tag items) that is when teachers and nonprofits can come and get those specific tag color items for free! Any leftover items would windup going to other thrift stores otherwise.
